9:30 pm - VIP Lineup

10:00 pm - Parade

Join us Downtown Douglas, Michigan for the 26th Annual Douglas Halloween Parade for Adults. Each year this event draws countless people to our small town to witness this extravaganza of creativity in costuming and performing arts. Paraders spend all year developing characters and practicing routines to "oooo" and "aaaa" crowds. This event is not to be missed!

Show up early to shop around Saugatuck and Douglas and grab a bite to eat. We'd love for you to support and thank our sponsors with your business. You'll quickly realize why Douglas is known as "The Village of Friendliness."

Don’t delay making your travel plans to the Saugatuck-Douglas area.

Main Lineup

9:00 pm

Center Street between History Center (Old School House) and OxBow House. No registration required. Free, but… we’d love a little donation to help the event continue. If you can spare a $5 or $10 we’d appreciate it!

VIP Lineup

9:30 pm

Mixer Street across from OxBow House. Reserve your space here. Lineup last, but go first for $100. Your VIP access will also get you into the History Center party before the parade and Dunes Resort after party for no cover, plus you’ll get a swag bag with other goodies and fun stuff from local area businesses and sponsors.

When you finish the route you may exit to the right or left. Space is held in the last block for paraders who want to watch the parade after you’ve finished.

Please do NOT return back up the parade route!

We Need Your Support!

The Douglas Halloween parade is not a revenue generating event, but it pulls an estimated 15-20,000 people to town annually. Those people support the many small local businesses who survive off a 10 week tourism season and help them get through the slower shoulder season. Our event is entirely funded by those same small businesses who sponsor, and small donations from our supporters. We’d love your help lightening the load for our sponsors.

Sponsor

We work hard to ensure our sponsors get exceptional exposure for supporting the event across social media, our website, the event and media interviews. Visit our sponsorship page to learn more about the perks of supporting the event.

Donate

Every little bit adds up to make the event possible each year. If you can donate $5 or $500, please know how much our community appreciates it. This event lifts up a lot of small businesses in the area and sends a lot of people home with happy memories.

Volunteer

Join us as a volunteer to help ensure the parade runs smoothly. In addition to enjoying one of the best possible views of the parade, we’ll give you a free shirt, feed you before and buy you a drink after to celebrate. It is a little work, but a lot of fun.

VIP Lineup $100

Main Lineup Donation $10

Spectator Donation $5

Tips for Paraders

Mind the 10’ Gap

Your costume is fabulous and everyone wants to see you!

We’ll space you from the lineup area. Please try to maintain at least a 10 foot gap as you progress down the route. If you catch up to the people in front of you, stop or perform side to side to the crowd to create more space.

Please Do Not Throw Anything

We love our volunteers and the local Department of Public Works employees who help us setup very early and cleanup late.

Please do not throw anything or hand things out to the crowd. It makes a mess and it creates a hazard for paraders who might have limited vision or high heel shoes.

Area Info

One of the reasons we have this event is to pull people to town to experience how amazing the Saugatuck-Douglas area is, so come early, stay late, explore, eat, shop, play, and just get ready to have so much fun.

Parking

What time should you be to Downtown Douglas to find close parking?

Anybody’s guess, but we suggest you arrive early, especially if you want to try to eat in a local restaurant or have drinks in a bar as they fill up very early! There is no parking on Center Street, but most of the side streets allow parking on one or both sides of the street.

Our best advice is to make a whole weekend of this event and enjoy the towns! There is plenty to see and do in the Saugatuck and Douglas area before the parade. You can also park downtown Saugatuck and take the Interurban shuttle to avoid the congestion in Douglas.
