Be in the Parade
You Don't Need an Invitation. Just Show Up.
Want to be part of the Douglas Halloween Parade?
There's no registration. There's no fee. There's no application.
Just put on a costume, bring your friends, and show up at 9:00 pm on Center Street for the main parade lineup.
At 10:00 pm, the Pumpkin King leads the procession through four blocks of downtown Douglas, followed by VIPs and top sponsors, hundreds of costumed participants, performers, groups, and Great Lakes Brass Band at the caboose.
Come join us. The more creative, the better.
Where Do I Go?
Main Parade Lineup - 9 pm
Head to Center Street between the Old Schoolhouse History Center and Ox-Bow House.
Look for the four bright searchlights marking the lineup area. Our volunteers will be there to help direct you.
You don't need to arrive with a group, and you don't need to know exactly where you're going. Follow the lights, look for the volunteers, and we'll get you where you need to be.
VIP Parade Lineup - 9:30 pm
Head to Mixer Street across from the Ox-Bow House party, listen for the brass band.
Look for the big VIP letters and a tent. Our volunteers will be there to help direct you.
VIP tickets ordered online will be mailed until October 23rd. If you do not get your tickets prior to arrival, we will also have your name on a list to ensure you can enter.
Any tickets left will be available for purchase at the entrance.
A Few Important Guidelines
Spacing - Maintain a 10’ Gap
Your costume is fabulous and everyone wants to see you!
We’ll space you from the lineup area. Please try to maintain about a 10 foot gap as you progress down the route. If you catch up to the people in front of you, stop or perform side to side to the crowd to create more space.
No Motorized Vehicles
You can roll on wheels, but they can’t be motorized. Some of the best groups we have had, have had walking or rolling floats. Mobility aids are welcome.
Please Do Not Throw Anything
We love our volunteers and the local Department of Public Works employees who help us setup very early and cleanup late.
Please do not throw anything or hand things out to the crowd. It makes a mess and it creates a hazard for paraders who might have limited vision or high heel shoes.
